Poker Hourly Rate Calculator

Win rate in big blinds is hard to feel. Dollars per hour isn’t. Convert your bb/100 into an expected hourly at your stake and table speed — just remember it’s an average, not a wage.

Your game

bb/100

Big blinds won per 100 hands.

$

A 1/2 game has a $2 big blind; 2/5 is $5.

Expected hourly

Expected win rate per hour

$3.00 /hr

1.5 big blinds an hour, on average.

  • Per hour$3.00
  • Per 8-hour session$24.00
  • Per week (3 sessions)$72.00

This is an average expectation, not a paycheck. Real sessions swing wildly above and below it — and the win rate you entered has its own margin of error. Check the range with the win-rate confidence calculator.

How this is calculated

Win rate is big blinds per 100 hands, so per hour you earn (bb/100 ÷ 100) × hands per hour big blinds. Multiply by the dollar value of one big blind to get dollars per hour: $/hr = (bb/100 ÷ 100) × hands/hr × big blind $.

It’s a long-run average only. Variance means any single session can land far from it, and the figure is only as trustworthy as the win rate behind it — which, on a small sample, isn’t very.

An expectation is not a salary

Hourly rate is the friendliest way to picture a win rate, which is exactly why it’s easy to misread. The figure here is a long-run average: real sessions scatter far above and below it, and short stretches of losing hours are completely normal even for strong winners. Plan your bankroll around the swings, not the average.

It’s also only as solid as the win rate you fed in. If that came from a small sample, the true number could be very different — check the spread with the win-rate confidence calculator before you treat any hourly as real.
